LCM By the Numbers: 2009 to Present, First-Time and Experienced Moms

Midwives' Alliance of North America Statistics Project (MANA Stats) is a wonderful tool for understanding and tracking practice outcomes. Local Care Midwifery, PLLC provides evidenced based care and tracks that care with MANA Stats.

Ready for more good news? Evidence-based care works!

Since our inception, Local Care Midwifery, PLLC has cared for women having their first baby and women having later babies.

According to MANA Stats, LCM's first-time moms have a 91% vaginal birth rate and a 78.3% home birth rate. Wow!

With LCM's experienced moms, the vaginal and the home birth rate are both 100%. Incredible!

The caveat here is that women who do not start labor under the care of LCM are not counted in these MANA stats. For example, there is one dear LCM mom who transferred to a hospital practice at 42 1/2 weeks of pregnancy. She had an induction and a lovely vaginal delivery of her second child at the hospital with Michelle Doyle at her side. She had planned a home birth and transferred prior to starting labor. The inclusion of this data gives LCM's experienced moms a 100% vaginal delivery rate and a 97.6% home birth rate. Not too shabby!

May all babies be born into loving hands...
