Prayers of Invocation
I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

Flu happens, best if not to you

Ok, NYS DOH says that the incidence of the flu is decreasing. I have to wonder if that is the case for the Capital District. I have 20 pregnant clients and at least three of them have flu-like symptoms. See the CDC  for information on the difference between a cold and the flu. A cold can be terrible and the flu can be mild BUT generally flu is more severe and the cough is bad. Really bad. Last year, I wrote several bogs about the flu. This should link you to one and this should link you to the other. If you don't have Sambucol in your medicine chest, consider getting it. Today.

Ok, everybody, please
     Wash Your Hands,
     Rest Well,
Eat a Fresh Source of Vitamin C Daily,
    Wash Your Hands Again!

Postpartum Support group Meeting in Troy

It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, currently our 'village' is pretty scarce for new moms; women are left to do the majority of baby raising alone, separated from friends, co-workers and families. It is hard physically and emotionally. Below is information on a support group for new moms that are having a difficult time

Baby Nikola had a lot to think about

Named after the famous inventor Nikola Tesla, this baby came out with his fist pressed to his face. What wonderful thoughts were you thinking while growing inside your momma? What grand ideas did you come up with during your long journey to us? Maybe you have figured out how to animate the dirigibles that hang in your nursery. Welcome Baby Nikola!
