It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, currently our 'village' is pretty scarce for new moms; women are left to do the majority of baby raising alone, separated from friends, co-workers and families. It is hard physically and emotionally. Below is information on a support group for new moms that are having a difficult time

Who: Peer Support Group for Moms during their first year postpartum who are experiencing a Postpartum Mood Disorder or who are struggling during the postpartum period. Please feel free to bring Babies in arms. Women who are pregnant after experiencing a Mood Disorder with their
previous child’s birth are also welcome
When: Fourth Wednesday of Every Month beginning May25, 2011
*There will be no group in July due to vacation*

Facilitator: Amy Breese, PCD(DONA),CLC is a postpartum doula, lactation
counselor and mom to two sons. Amy has both personal and professional experience
with Postpartum Mood Disorders. Please contact her at 518-469-8704 or

pre-registration is required to ensure there is enough space to accommodate the
group.
This group is not meant to replace the care of your healthcare provider or therapist but to
provide a safe space for mothers to gather, share their stories and help each other during
the first year postpartum.
